History

A visionary who strongly believed in innovation

The late Mr. Saif Obaid Al Hathboor was a visionary businessman who identified and envisioned opportunities in the UAE market that led to the creation of Al Hathboor Group LLC, which has since grown into one of the country’s most prominent business houses.

He began diversifying the group’s activities across multiple sectors, including textiles, construction, supermarkets, real estate, and electrical equipment, always guided by a deep commitment to time, excellence, and building a dedicated workforce.

In 1979, driven by his belief in innovation, he established the region’s first nut processing plant under the BEST brand. His pioneering idea was to transform the traditional heritage of loose nuts sold in souks into modern packaged goods for trade laying the foundation for what would become a leading name in the food industry.

History Timeline

1979 – Founding
Best Food Company’s story began in 1979, when the late Mr. Saif Obaid Al Hathboor, a visionary businessman, established the region’s first nut processing plant. At that time, nuts were sold loose in Dubai’s traditional markets, known as souks, and his idea transformed the way consumers enjoyed nuts.

1989 – Global Growth
The growing recognition of the Best Nuts brand enabled the company to expand across the GCC and international markets, building a strong reputation that continues to resonate with consumers for generations.

2000 – Retail & Roasteries
Best Food entered the confectionery industry by establishing its first chocolate production facility in Umm Ramool, Dubai, marking a new chapter of diversification.

2008 – Commitment to Consumers
A state-of-the-art distribution center was established in Al Qusais, Dubai, to efficiently serve consumers nationwide and strengthen the company’s supply chain.

2013 – Expansion
To meet growing consumer demand, Best Food opened a modern nuts production facility in Dubai Investment Park, while dedicating the Umm Ramool facility exclusively to chocolate. This expansion fueled the growth of trusted brands like Best Nuts and Tamrah.

2022 – Innovation
Innovation took center stage with the introduction of PEKANZ, a unique confectionery brand specializing in chocolate-covered pecan nuts, blending indulgence with creativity.

2024 – Chocolatier
Best Food launched KAMAKAN, a boutique retail concept offering luxury chocolates, premium nuts, specialty coffee, and flowers — designed to create unforgettable moments and experiences.

Management Team

Since its inception in 1979, Best Food has grown to become the market leader in branded nuts across the Middle East. Much of this success is credited to our dedicated team, working under the leadership of Mr. Bahjat Hasan, CEO of Best Food, who continues to uphold the legacy of our late Founder and Chairman, Mr. Saif Obaid Saif Al Hathboor.

With the company’s growth, our team has also expanded globally. Today, we export to markets across the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia, and South Asia with plans to enter new markets in Asia, Africa, and Europe in the near future.
